Dependence of Sugar Consumption in Czech Republic on its Price (Analysis of Sugar Consumption Dependence in Czech Republic on Nominal and Real Price of Sugar
and Sugar Consumption and Sugar Price Prediction)
The paper describes the development of sugar consumption and price in the Czech Republic. The research focuses on the evaluation of absolute and relative fluctuations in sugar price and
consumption. The dependence between the price and the quantity of sugar demanded and consumed is examined using regression and correlation analysis and the ARIMA model, which examines
the dependence between the nominal price and the quantity consumed, as well as the real price and the quantity consumed. For the examined quantities, only the dependence between the
nominal price and the consumed quantity was confirmed. The dependence between the real price and the consumed quantity was not confirmed.
Příspěvek se zabývá deskripcí vývoje cen cukru a jeho spotřeby. Výzkum je zaměřen na hodnocení absolutních i relativních výkyvů cen a jeho spotřeby. Závislost mezi cenou a poptávaném i spotřebovávaném
množství cukru je zkoumána pomocí regresní a korelační analýzy a modelu ARIMA, v rámci kterého je zkoumána závislost mezi nominální cenou a spotřebovaným množství, i reálnou cenou a spotřebovaným
množstvím. U zkoumaných veličin byla potvrzena závislost pouze mezi nominální cenou a spotřebovávaným množstvím, u reálné ceny závislost potvrzena nebyla.
