Strategie při výběru odrůd cukrové řepy: osvědčené nebo nové odrůdy?
Strategy in Selection of Sugar Beet Varieties: Well-established or New Varieties?
Based on the List of Recommended Varieties annual report, the relative polarised sugar yields were calculated for varieties with three-, two-, and one-year results for the years 2005–2015.
Selections of 6 best varieties were then created: conservative (mainly varieties with 3-year results), innovative (balance of varieties with 3, 2 and 1-year results) and current (the best
6 varieties of the last year, regardless of their testing duration). For these selections (11 selections for cultivation 2006–2016), we determined the average yield of polarised sugar
in the following year of testing and the difference of this yield compared to the average yield of the entire range. The innovative selection guaranteed on average 11 years (approx.
60 trials) of increase in polarised sugar yield by 2.1% as compared to the average of the entire range. The conservative selection showed smaller year-to-year fluctuation; however,
the yield increase reached only 0.9%. The effect of the current selection was 1.6%. When making a selection for a specific location, a selection from the average of all the test
locations showed to be a better option than the selection based on the results for the particular location only. The paper discusses the practical aspects of these results.

Z každoročně vydávaného Seznamu doporučených odrůd byly pro ročníky 2005–2015 vypočteny relativní výnosy polarizačního cukru odrůd s tříletými, dvouletými a jednoletými výsledky.
Byly pak vytvořeny výběry vždy 6 nejlepších odrůd: konzervativní (s převahou odrůd se tříletými výsledky), inovativní (vyvážený poměr odrůd s tříletými, dvouletými a jednoletými
výsledky) a aktuální (nejlepších 6 odrůd v posledním ročníku bez ohledu na dobu jejich zkoušení). Pro takto provedené výběry (11 výběrů pro pěstování 2006–2016) jsme zjistili
průměrný výnos polarizačního cukru v příštím roce zkoušení a rozdílnost tohoto výnosu oproti průměrnému výnosu celého sortimentu. Inovativní výběr zajišťoval v průměru 11 let
(cca 60 pokusů) zvýšení výnosu polarizačního cukru oproti průměru celého sortimentu o 2,1 %. Konzervativní výběr ve výnosu meziročně méně kolísal, zvýšení výnosu tu však bylo
jen o 0,9 %. Efekt aktuálního výběru byl 1,6 %. Při výběru pro určitou lokalitu se ukázal lepší výběr z průměru všech pokusných lokalit než výběr z výsledku pouze na této lokalitě.
V práci se diskutují praktické aspekty těchto výsledků.
