Konec cukrovaru v Hrochově Týnci očima jeho zaměstnanců The End of the Sugar Factory in Hrochův Týnec through the Eyes of its Staff
The article tries to describe the floatation, existence and dissolution of the sugar factory in Hrochův Týnec. The first part
of the article is focused on the causes of the establishing of the sugar factory and its construction, in more detail it deals
with the troubles that went with the sugar refinery during its setting up and the first sugar beet season. The sugar refinery
was built within the plans of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance; it was a turnkey project which was all delivered
by Poland. The available archival sources sketch in an interesting way how the construction was proceeding and how it was
perceived by the people who lived in the neighbourhood of the emerging and then the biggest sugar refinery in Bohemia.
The second part of the contribution tries to involve the circumstances that led to the dissolution of the sugar factory and were
connected with a new sugar regime which had to be accepted by the European Union at the end of the 1990s. The text focuses on
how the end of the sugar factory was perceived by the staff, sugar beet suppliers and transporters and how they were compensated
for the incurred losses. The end of the sugar factory also hit the inhabitants of the villages in the neighbourhood and its
liquidation attracted an unusual interest, particularly because the area of the sugar factory was considerably large and its
liquidation took more than a year.

Článek se snaží přiblížit vznik, existenci a zánik cukrovaru v Hrochově Týnci. První část se zaměřuje na příčiny vzniku cukrovaru
a jeho výstavbu, podrobněji se věnuje problémům, které cukrovar provázely během jeho vzniku a první kampaně. Cukrovar byl stavěn
v rámci RVHP, byl celý dodán „na klíč“ z Polska a dostupné archivní prameny zajímavě dokreslují, jak stavba probíhala a jak byla
vnímána lidmi, kteří žili v okolí nově vznikajícího a tehdy největšího cukrovaru v Československu. Druhá část příspěvku se snaží
postihnout okolnosti, jež vedly k zániku cukrovaru a které souvisely s novým cukerním pořádkem, k němuž musela Evropská unie přikročit
na konci devadesátých let. Text se zaměřuje na to, jak konec cukrovaru vnímali sami zaměstnanci, dodavatelé řepy a dopravci
a jak jim byly vzniklé ztráty kompenzovány. Konec cukrovaru zasáhl i obyvatele obcí v bezprostředním okolí a jeho likvidace vzbudila
nebývalý zájem, a to zejména proto, že areál cukrovaru byl značně rozsáhlý a jeho likvidace trvala více než rok.
