Sugar Beet in the View of Plant Nematology
Sugar beet can be infested with several species of phytoparasitic nematodes. The longest known species of this group of cropdamaging organisms affecting this crop is the beet cyst nematode
(Heterodera schachtii). Protection against this pest is conducted mainly by planting tolerant sugar beet varieties. Other nematodes affecting sugar beet are the members of the
Meloidogyne genus and the Ditylenchus dipsaci and Pratylenchus penetrans species. These nematode species have not yet been recorded on beet in the Czech Republic,
but it is necessary to monitor their possible occurrence.
Cukrová řepa může být napadena několika druhy fytoparazitických háďátek. Nejdéle známým druhem z této skupiny škodlivých organismů škodících na této plodině je háďátko řepné (Heterodera schachtii).
Ochrana proti tomuto škůdci se realizuje zejména pomocí tolerantních odrůd. Dalšími druhy háďátek napadajícími cukrovou řepu jsou háďátka rodu Meloidogyne a druhy Ditylenchus dipsaci
a Pratylenchus penetrans. Tyto druhy nebyly na řepě na území České republiky zatím zaznamenány, přesto je nutné věnovat jejich případnému výskytu pozornost.
