Sugar Production in Australia
The subject of this paper was the analysis of Australian sugar industry. The article clarifies the relationships that existed in the industry in the past
and describes the relationships that exist there in present. The contribution shows that despite the maturity of Australian sector, some problems persist,
and local growers, millers, as well as other involved parties must keep on addressing them. The article reaches a conclusion that the deregulation
of Queensland sugar industry carried out recently cannot by itself ensure a solely positive development for the future years.
Článek se zabývá analýzou australského cukrovarnictví. Bylo objasněno, jaké vztahy panovaly v tomto průmyslu v minulosti a jaké vztahy zde panují
v současnosti. Příspěvek ukazuje, že navzdory vyspělosti australského sektoru přetrvávají některé problémy, které musí tamní pěstitelé, cukrovarníci
i další zúčastněné strany řešit. Stejně tak byl učiněn závěr, že deregulace queenslandského cukrovarnictví provedená v nedávném období sama o sobě
nestačí k tomu, aby byl pro další léta zajištěn pouze pozitivní vývoj.
