Trh s cukrem a cukrovou řepou v Ruské federaci – základní vývoj a charakteristiky Development and Characteristics of Sugar and Sugar Beet Market in Russian Federation
The aim of this paper is to analyse the development of Russian sugar industry between the years 1913–2009. Our research
is primarily based on the analysis of the historical and current development of the sugar industry in Russia. It identifies
the main factors which have had an impact on the current situation of Russian sugar industry. It can be said that Russia
belongs among the main producers of beet-sugar, however, its current production is unable to satisfy just a limited number
of consumers (in the framework of its own market and CIS market). Russian sugar market is very specific. There are about
140 milion consumers and 90 sugar mills. Russia is not a member of WTO and due to this it is not necessary to liberalize
the agrarian market according to GATT rules. However, it can be said that Russian sugar market is very regulated.
Článek analyzuje vývoj ruského cukrovarnického průmyslu v letech 1913–2009. Vychází z analýzy minulého a současného vývoje
cukrovarnictví v Rusku a identifikuje faktory, které se podílely na současném stavu cukrovarnictví v Rusku. Třebaže země patří
mezi významné producenty zejména řepného cukru, jeho potenciál je schopný uspokojit pouze omezený počet spotřebitelů, a to jen
v rámci vlastního vnitřního trhu a trhu zemí SNS. Ruský trh s cukrem je velmi specifický. Toto je dáno počtem spotřebitelů
(140 mil.) a rozsahem zpracovatelských kapacit (90 aktivních cukrovarů). Rusko není dosud členem Světové obchodní organizace
(WTO) a nevztahují se na něj závazky týkající se liberalizace agrárního trhu dle pravidel GATT. Ruský cukerní trh můžeme
charakterizovat jako velmi regulovaný.
