Výroba cukru na Zbraslavi – kolébka českého cukrovarnictví Sugar production in Zbraslav – the birthplace of Czech sugar industry
In 1787 a cane raw sugar refinery at Zbraslav near Prague was founded in the building of a former monastery.
At the beginning of 19th century the production was extended of the fabrication of sugar beet, beet raw sugar

The Zbraslav refinery was the oldest one on the nowadays area of the Czech republic; the Czech sugar industry
celebrated thus 220 years of its existence. There are not many countries around the world, which have such
a long history of its sugar industry.
V roce 1787 byla ve Zbraslavi u Prahy zprovozněna rafinerie na zpracování surového třtinového cukru v prostorách
zrušeného kláštera. Na počátku devatenáctého století byla výroba rozšířena o zpracování cukrové řepy, surového

Zbraslavská rafinerie byla nejstarší na území dnešní České republiky, český cukrovarnický průmysl tak loni
